Organisers of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition Conference, ADIPEC 2023, have said that they have expanded exhibition and conference ‘offerings’, to bring together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to accelerate collective, responsible action and credible solutions needed to tackle the biggest challenges in energy and climate.

A press statement sent to NewsDirect indicate that the conference which would bring in the biggest players in the oil and gas industry will be held under the patronage of  President of the United Arab Emirates,His Highness, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,  and hosted by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, from 2-5 October 2023, with the theme ‘Decarbonizing. Faster. Together.’

“Taking place less than two months before the UAE hosts COP28, ADIPEC will rally industries towards a common cause and help frame conversations critical to accelerating decarbonization and future-proofing the energy system,” organisers said.

Part of what organisers say is that the ADIPEC Exhibition seeks to achieve include the advancement of credible solutions and collective action towards eliminating methane emissions, support phasing out carbon emissions across the value chain to achieve net zero by 2050 and tackle energy security and investment in the Global South.

According to organisers, “the exhibition will host more than 2,200 companies across four dedicated industry zones – an expanded Decarbonization Zone, the Digitalization in Energy Zone, a Maritime & Logistics Zone and a dedicated Manufacturing & Industrialization Exhibition & Conference.”

More than 160,000 attendees are expected to attend ADIPEC 2023 in Abu Dhabi.  This includes more than 350 conference sessions across 10 strategic and technical programmes – including a new Hydrogen Strategic Conference.

Among the 1,500 speakers who will explore the strategies and solutions to achieve a cleaner, more secure energy future will include IOCs, NOC, about 2,200 exhibiting countries.

Even though Nigeria’s NNPC is listed as a ‘bronze’ sponsor of the ADIPEC 2023, there is yet no word if Nigeria would be represented at the conference of the big players in the oil and gas industry. Nigeria suspended the payment of fuel subsidies from May 29, 2023, and has yet to name a petroleum representative to this conference. NewsDirect was unable to reach Mele Kolo Kyari, Group CEO of the NNPC Ltd for comments at the time of filing in this report.
