Adeleke’s cabinet full of thugs – Oyetola’s Aide replies Osun Govt

Spokesperson to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Ismail Omipidan has said that the cabinet of Governor Ademola Adeleke is filled with thugs.
Omipidan made this known in a response to a claim by the spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mr Olawale Rasheed, who said the Oyetola’s administration was marred by violence and lawlessness.
Reacting, Omipidan said that Oyetola’s administration was distinguished by its commitment to peace, stability, and rule of law, rather than violence and lawlessness, which he said are the hallmarks of the present administration in Osun.
He added that on the contrary, it is the present Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led administration of Governor Adeleke that is characterised by thuggery and violence, adding that the administration started off on a violent note on November 27, 2022, when political thugs loyal to the Governor publicly attacked security operatives, including Amotekun personnel at the venue of the swearing-in ceremony.
He further said barely 24 hours after the swearing-in, the administration’s thugs, many of whom have now become special advisers and key aides of the governor at the moment, went further to violently take over motor parks in the State, attacking individuals and burning to ashes vehicles perceived to be owned by supporters of the immediate past administration.
He said: “I wonder how such an administration will now turn around to accuse us of perpetrating violence and lawlessness. I challenge the Chief Press Secretary to the current Governor, Mr. Olawale Rasheed to provide evidence of any violent clash among members of the NURTW under our administration to warrant his false claim.”
“But I am not surprised. That is who he is: a pathetic liar. You ask him about how to get to Lagos, and out of mischief, he would tell you one could also get to Lagos through Ilobu via Ilorin. He is fond of lying shamelessly and in the process, he draws correlation between two distinct unrelated issues.”
“I would advise the Osun Government to deal decisively with whatever issue they have with their enforcers and janjaweed within the transportation sector in the State without dragging my Principal into it. It is on record that apart from nationwide protests, which snowballed into Osun, we never had any uprising in the State under Oyetola’s administration, not even a strike by workers for a day.”
“It is however on record that under the current Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, judicial workers went on strike for months, a crisis precipitated from within. It is the same administration that flagrantly disobeys court orders and rulings at will. It would, therefore, amount to clothing our administration in borrowed robe by claiming we were lawless,” Omipidan added.
