Governor Ademola Adeleke has inaugurated 39 members of the Osun State Rent Tribunal including chairmen for the Nine Federal constituencies in the state.
The inauguration, which was held at the Exco Lounge, Governor’s Office, Abeere believes, will put an end to the incessant landlords/tenants imbroglio in the state.
Governor Adeleke who was represented by the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Wole Jimi Bada, stated that their appointments are in accordance with the Residential Accommodation (Rent Control) Law Cap. 144 Laws of Osun, 2003, Section 5(1)(a) and (b).
According to Adeleke, this is aimed at enhancing communal peace and dispensation of justice in landlords/tenants related disputes in addition to being an avenue for an amicable resolution of rent related issues that would be guaranteed in all federal constituencies in Osun State.
He congratulated the appointees on their well deserved appointments, just as he implored them to discharge their responsibilities creditably well by being guided by the extant provisions of the Osun State Rent Control and Recovery of Premises Law 2003.
Adeleke urged them to uphold the principles of professionalism, integrity, fairness, accessibility, and timeliness whenever they are discharging their duties.
In his acceptance speech shortly after the inauguration exercise, Barrister Oluwayemisi Akintajuwa who spoke on behalf of all the Chairmen and Members of the Tribunal appreciated Governor Adeleke for the confidence reposed in them.
He promised on behalf of his colleagues, to uphold the rule of operation in addition to discharging their responsibilities without fear or favour, ill will or affection
