Adamawa indigenes have celebrated their two illustrious sons, Engr Babachir Lawal and Barrister Boss Mustapha for their immense contributions to the development of Hong, Adamawa and the entire country.
The duo, who had served as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) under the former President, Muhammadu Buhari’s administration were described as men of impeccable character whose roles have engineered positive development in the entire nation.
The Group Executive Director, Corporate Services ,NIPCO Plc & Walin Adamawa, Alhaji (Dr) Aminu Abdulkadir who chaired the special reception for the former SGFs in Hong, Adamawa State, said, “both were men of impeccable character whose roles as SGF engineered positive development in the entire country especially at the levels of policy formulation. They showed unwavering commitment and loyalty to their principal and contributed immensely to the stability in the cabinet of PMB’s administration.”
According to him, “The celebrities have created a lot of employment for graduates as well as given appointments at the level of C.E.O’s of many federal government agencies to many Adamawa indigenes. They brought Federal Medical Centre Hong among other MDA’s physical presence in Adamawa State. .
“We would continue to be proud of your sterling leadership qualities while in office. Your pedigree and antecedents during your previous appointments have fascinated the indigenes of Hong and indeed Adamawa state in general to rally round the duo as SGF, being your last political appointment,” he said.
He, however, urged them to continually present themselves in service of the state and the country at large in higher positions.
Engr Babachir Lawal was appointed Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) in 2015 at the dawn eight republic by President Muhammadu Buhari and served till 2017.
Barrister Boss Mustapha came to office as SGF in November 2017 and served till the end of the ninth republic under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Prior to his appointment, he served as Managing Director, Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
Alhaji Aminu noted that while in office, the duo served the nation coordinating effectively cabinet meetings and agencies under SGF office in the presidency.
Mustapha responding on behalf of both of them thanked the indigenes for the honour and the fatherly role of the Lamido of Adamawa, Barkindo Mustapha giving quality advice that helped them in most of their numerous tasks while serving their principal.
He also eulogised the former President Muhammadu Buhari for the confidence reposed in them to serve as SGF all through his regime as the nation’s number one citizen.
Dignitaries at the civic reception came from all walks of life with the Galadima Adamawa, Alhaji Mustafa Aminu representing Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha as royal father.
