ACCI lauds Air Peace commencement of Lagos-London direct flights
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has commended Air Peace Airlines on the successful inauguration of its direct flights from Lagos to London.
The ACCI President, Mr Emeka Obegolu, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
Obegolu said the direct connection between Nigeria and the United Kingdom would foster trade, tourism, and economic cooperation.
“This achievement is a significant milestone in the Nigerian aviation industry and demonstrates the immense potential and growth trajectory of Air Peace.
“It will provide enhanced convenience and accessibility for business travelers and Nigerians in the diaspora seeking to connect with their destinations.
“I commend Air Peace for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and unwavering dedication to connecting Nigerians to the world.
“This accomplishment serves as a testament to the resilience and determination of the Nigerian private sector,” he said.
Obegolu also recognised the ongoing challenges faced by the aviation industry in Nigeria.
He urged the Federal Government to take further steps toward facilitating ease of doing business for domestic airlines.
Obegolu noted that streamlined regulations, reduced operational costs, and improved infrastructure development were vital for continued growth and success across various industries.
“The ACCI is ready to collaborate with Air Peace and other stakeholders to advocate for policies that support the growth of the Nigerian aviation industry.
“A thriving aviation sector is essential for fostering economic development and creating jobs in Nigeria.
“Once again, on behalf of the Executive Council and members of the ACCI, I congratulate the Air Peace on this historic accomplishment.
“We wish them continued success on this new route and in all their future endeavours,” Obegolu said.
Air Peace inaugurated its flight from Lagos to the UK on March 30.
