Abuse and misuse of NSCDC officials for political bias in osun; we’re concerned. Series 1

There’s a grown fears and threats of Social disturbances everywhere in our nation ranging from banditry, terrorism, self-determination, self-actualisation,et.al. but at that Osun State is absolutely peaceful due to the capable economic and social management.

In recent time, the emergence of a splinter group, TOP, from the fold of the ruling party, APC, seems harmless and just mere Political which all watchers felt would surely sort with time.

The degeneration of this group into an agent of Civil disturbance, as much as it is worrisome, takes a backseat considering the apparent fact that the group led by Reverend Adelowo Adebiyi is given a disturbing, an unholy alliance and unscrupulous security/guard in the series of mayhem that TOP have been associated with in recent time.

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), is a law enforcement agency established by the Act 3 of 2003 of the National Assembly and signed into law on June 28,2003 by then President Olusegun Obasanjo, charged to assisting in the maintenance of peace and order, protection of Public infrastructures/amenities, rescuing of the civil population during the period of emergency and related matters which was amended by NSCDC (Amendment) Act,2007 Act No.6 to strengthen and enhance same.

There is a growing concern over the collusion of NSCDC officials, Osun Command with the seemingly caustic group, The Osun Progressives (TOP), and keen observers, both Partisans and non-Partisans, are feeling hugely concerned with this unhealthy conduct of the officials of this agency maintained with tax payers patriotic commitment to the commonwealth.

It’s on this note that this writer challenge the Osun State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja, and the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi to rise up to this irritating challenge or else they’re both culpable.

Musefiu Kolawole Afolabi, popularly, Prof KClO3, writes from Ipetumodu Ward 2, Ife North LGA,Osun State.
