Absence of prosecution stalls trial of Ex- Lagos Attorney General

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Thursday has further adjourned the trial of former Lagos State Attorney-General and  Commissioner of Justice, Olasupo Shasore SAN to 21st of February, 2023.

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke fixed the date due to a letter written by the counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Barr Bala Sanga.

The prosecution sought for adjournment of the trial to another day in a letter dated 21st of November.

Sanga said that he has two matters before a Federal High Court Abuja.

Defence Counsel, Olawale Akoni, SAN, urged the court to consider the adjournment was at the instance of the prosecution.

Recall that Sasore was arraigned by the EFCC on the 29th of October on the offence bordering on money laundering into tune of $100,000.

He was arraigned on a four-count charge before Chukwujekwu Aneke, judge of a federal high court in Lagos.

The former AG was alleged to have committed money laundering to the tune of $100,000 without going through a financial institution.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
