Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has sworn-in Mr. Kolawole Peter Fagbohun as the 19th Head of Service of Ogun State with a charge on him to provide leadership that would strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the public service.
The Governor who spoke at the ceremony held at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, described the new Head of Service as a dedicated and committed civil servant who combines rare blend of experience, astuteness, personal management and administration with thoroughness and sound professional calling.
“Your appointment means that you are a servant to the people. It is a rare opportunity to serve and this calls for sober reflection. You are to be the bridge between the public office holders and the public servants.
“Provide a leadership that would strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of the public service in fulfilling its mandates.
“Use your office for the successful implementation of the ISEYA pillars and Building our Future together agenda,” the Governor charged.
Noting that the selection process comes with merit, inclusive and based on principles of fairness and equity, Governor Abiodun urged the new number one civil servant to be a role model to others.
While charging the State workers to extend their support to the new Head of Service in order to enable him succeed, the Governor pledged that his administration would continue to create necessary ambience for more developmental programmes that would enhanced the socio-economic development of every citizen of the State just as he promised to prioritised their welfare and wellbeing.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Fagbohun explained that his coming on board would bring about the culture of high performance as he intended to adopt global best practices to ensure that public service translate the policies and programmes of government into action.
He assured that the workforce would complement government efforts in achieving its developmental agenda by giving their optimal support, while appreciating the governor for finding him worthy for the top job.
