Abiodun extols exemplary virtues of late JMK

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the late political leader, Senator Martins Kuye as an icon who was selfless, humble and a highly detribalised Nigerian.

Gov Abiodun represented by his Deputy, Engr Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele stated this at the eight day Fridous prayer held for the deceased at Wesley Primary School, Ago-Iwoye on Sunday.

The governor revealed that the late former Minister of State for Finance was an astute personality who had a remarkable sense of humour and an uncommon ability to douse tension whenever the need arose.

He said that JMK during his life time sacrificed everything he had towards the growth and development of his people and the state saying that he would be sorely missed by everybody and the state government.

While consoling the wives and children to take solace in God, he prayed that God  overlook his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him aljana firdaus.

Also speaking, Nigeria Ambassador to United Kingdom (UK) Alhaji Sarafadeen Tunji Ishola, described late Kuye as a man of many part, devout Muslim and a God fearing man. He added that he was cerebral, a principled politician, charismatic leader, brilliant scholar,  merchant , traditionalist and a bridge builder.

In his lecture, the National Missioner Ansarudeen,  Sheik Muyideen Ajayi Bello, urged everyone to live a good and exemplary life, saying no matter how rich and highly placed anyone is, death will come one day but the legacies of  the person speaks after death.

While saying death is inevitable, he also advised that people should have the fear of God in all they do, be selfless and committed to God.

In his remarks, His Royal Highness, Ebumawe of Ago-iwoye, Oba Abdulrazak Adenuga said the late Senator was a father of all while praying that God grant him eternal life.  He noted that he didn’t regret making him the Asiwaju of Ago iwoye.

Dignitaries at the event included;  Senator Lekan Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the state governor; Alhaji Salisu Afolabi Shuaib, former Deputy Governor, Senator Gbenga Kaka, Ogun Deputy Speaker, Hon Dare Kadiri, Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon.  Afolabi Afuwape,  State Assembly members, Chief Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka and league of Imams and Alfas amongst others.

In a related development, the state government has condoled with the family of the Chief Imam of Odosenlu Central mosque, in ljebu North East local government, Alhaji Modiu Rabiu, over his demise recently.

Leading the delegation to the family house of the late Iman who was also former General Manager, Ogun state, Agric- Corporation, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele in company of her husband, Alhaji Bode Oyedele said the news of his death came as a rude shock.

She described late Rabiu as a God fearing man and a supportive husband, going by the contribution of his wife to the development of the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria, FOMWAN.

Also speaking, the Chief of staff to Governor Abiodun, Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salis, who admonished the family to remain united,  said it is more important to fear and render services to God than to be religious.

Alhaji Modiu Rabiu who died on Sunday at the age of 84, was the husband of the FOMWAN state President, Alhaja Kudirat Rabiu.

Appreciating the state government delegation,  son of the deceased, Mr Rasak Rabiu said the entire family is grateful for identifying with the family.
