The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly , Rt  Hon. Emmanuel Emereuwa has called on Abians in the United States of America (USA) to partner with the state government to bring about a  21st century level development to the people. The Speaker made the remarks during a meeting he had with the business community and  various professionals.

The event which was organised in his  honour, afforded the Speaker the opportunity to hear directly from many Abians. Amongst several concerns discussed were, insecurity, electricity supply, corrupt government operatives and other problems.

In his response,  Hon. Emereuwa pleaded  with Abians not to let fear prevent them from investing in their homeland.

He informed them that the new governor of the State, His Excellency Dr Alex Oti is doing everything in his power to keep the State secured. He urged them to join hands with the new administration to bring that to fruition.

The Speaker reminded the people of the enormous business potentials that abound in the State, while assuring them of a safe and conducive business environment.

In his remarks, the host of the event , Dr. Akobundu Adiele, President and CEO of Vicenza Healthcare Inc. promised to re-evaluate his stand on investment in Abia State.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of the event, Dr Louis Eguzo thanked the Speaker  for coming and reaching out to the diasporians.

Dr Eguzo promised to reach out to other well meaning Abians in USA, assuring that  together they shall make Abia State work again.

On his part ,the Media, Publicity and Strategic Planning,  Comrd. Obed Joe said that Abians in diaspora will always be in constant communication with Abians at home to know when there is improvement in  the new administration of Dr Alex Oti led government.

The event which was held at Country Inn & suites Bartimore North, Maryland, attracted  several Abians and non Abians alike.
