They disclosed that much as they may not be able to quarrel with the governor and the party over the choice of Hon Adebayo Ayorinde, the governor should be magnanimous enough to find a way of compensating Engr Tajudeen Ishola popularly called TJ for his steadfastness and invaluable support to the teeming party members across the local government.

Speaking during the protest, Mr Babatunde Olajumoke said, “we are out to say that we are not happy with how our Chairmanship aspirant, Engr Tajudeen Olamilekan Ishola, the most popular aspirant and the people’s choice was eventually dropped for someone that we don’t know.

“However, we are not fighting the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun over this but we strongly feel that Engr Tajudeen Ishola must be compensated. He has always been there for us, helping us out when it mattered most. During COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, he was everywhere ensuring that we are supported and comfortable. We didn’t see any Ayorinde.

“This is a man that stepped down his ambition to be at the House of Assembly for another person, now that he is supposed to be given the Chairmanship ticket, it was given to another person that we don’t know. Our appeal to the governor is that he should please for the sake of all of us find a way to adequately compensate this man that has always been there for us and the party.”

Similarly, Another leader from the local government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde also described Engr Tajudeen Ishola as the most popular candidate that ought to have been given the privilege to fly the flag of the party in the coming local government elections.

The APC juggernaut explained that since it has pleased the party and the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to go with  the choice of Hon Adebayo Ayorinde, the governor should please find a way to lift the soul of Engr Tajudeen Ishola and reward him handsomely due to his unrepentant commitment to supporting the party and the teeming members.
