Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has congratulated the state Chairman of Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Alhaji AbdulRahman Onikijipa, on his re-election for another term.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, on Friday in Ilorin.
The statement quoted the governor saying: “The re-election of the RTEAN chief is a vote of confidence in his remarkable performance in office, including his support for government’s efforts to promote peace and orderliness in the transport sector.
“Public reviews of Alhaji Onikijipa’s leadership of the union suggests that he is a great manager of men and resources.
“He has brought a new vision to the union, such that encourages more young people to invest in the sector.
“With his vast experience and goodwill within and outside of the system, he is reputed to have contributed to the growth and development of the entire national transportation industry.
“We pray Allah to grant Alhaji Onikijipa good health and a more successful second term.”
He however advised Onikijipa to continue to mobilise his members for peace within and outside the transport union for greater efficiency and accomplishment.
