Abducted Chinese expatriates regain freedom

Osun State Police has confirmed the release of the two Chinese Nationals abducted at the gold mining site located at Okepa/Itikan Village in Ifewara.
The expatriates are: Messrs Zhao Jian, 33, and Wen, 50.
Recall that the expatriates were abducted by unknown gunmen on Monday leaving two guards wounded with gunshots.
It was gathered that one of the guards died on Wednesday while receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the state.
According to a statement on Thursday by Police Spokesperson in the State, SP Yemisi Opalola, stated that efforts were ongoing to arrest the devils in human clothing.
“It was a great delight to inform the members of the public that the above named Chinese Nationals has been rescued at about 9pm yesterday (Wednesday) unhurt.”
It will be recalled that, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode immediately drafted a strong combined reinforcement of Police Tactical units, JTF, and other security outfits who have embarked on search/rescue operation of the two abducted Chinese persons and possible arrest of all the kidnappers.
The Commissioner of Police enjoined members of the public to support, co-operate, and collaborate with the Police in fighting crime to bring it down to the barest minimum, by providing credible and prompt information as this will always help in forestalling future incident.
