Abducted Benue Poly Acting Rector regains freedom after six days

The Acting Rector Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Barki has regained freedom after six days in captivity.
Dr. Barki was abducted by unidentified gunmen in the late hours of Wednesday last week after an official assignment in Makurdi and was going back to his place of assignment.
The Acting Rector regained his freedom at the late hours of Monday this week.
It was gathered that the Acting Rector was released days after some of the management staff abducted with him and their driver had already been released.
Nigerian NewsDirect reports that after he was released, Engr. Dr. Barki attributed his release to God who intervened for him and appreciated his family, friends and the church for staying awake with him in prayers for God to intervene.
The Acting Rector particularly appreciated all Christians who spent sleepless nights in prayers and fasting for him to be released.
The resident pastor of NKST church Achagh, Makurdi, Rev. Moses Barki while reacting informed that God who does not disappoint heard their relentless prayers and rescued the Acting Rector.
Rev. Barki who is the younger brother to the Acting Rector while commenting further decried the rate of crime particularly abduction appealed to the church to intensify prayers for God to address the situation as he believed that only God could cause the attitudinal change and make the youths useful to themselves and the society in general.
He appealed to the state government to look into the security challenges of the state with a view to addressing it to make Benue the envy of others.
