Ifon-Ilobu-Erin crisis: Adeleke relaxes 24 hours curfew in warring communities

By Ismail Azeez, Osogbo

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the immediate adjustment of the 24-hour curfew to 17 hours, running from 2 pm to 7 am daily.

This modification will take effect from Friday, 28th March 2025, until further notice.

Adeleke, in a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that the decision was made to ease the hardship faced by residents of the three affected towns and allow them to attend to pressing needs.

While acknowledging the halt in hostilities so far, the governor expressed discontent over reports of another fatality, for which the police have made an arrest. He warned that “any individual or group responsible for inciting violence will face the full force of the law.”

Governor Adeleke instructed the joint security task force to maintain round-the-clock surveillance to uphold strict enforcement against any unlawful activities.

Furthermore, he directed the state emergency agency to enhance support services for displaced persons, in line with previous directives.
