
Aiyedatiwa demands accountability, zero tolerance for corruption from appointees
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has made it clear that his administration will not condone corruption or laziness among his political appointees.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of new and reappointed members of the State Executive Council in Akure on Thursday, the governor emphasised his commitment to effective governance and called for unwavering diligence from all appointed officials.
Aiyedatiwa declared that his administration would focus on speed, precision, and accountability, underscoring that the newly appointed officials must align with his seven-point developmental agenda, known as ‘OUR EASE.’
The agenda, according to the governor, is designed to accelerate the growth and progress of the state.
“We demand excellent performance from all appointees because that is the primary reason we were voted into office by the good people of Ondo State,” Aiyedatiwa stated, further stressing that his government would implement performance-measuring techniques to ensure efficiency and transparency.
The governor emphasised that the administration would operate with zero tolerance for any form of corruption, indolence, or disloyalty.
He also urged the appointees to work collaboratively with career officers, permanent secretaries, and other civil servants to ensure that the government operates as a unified entity with a shared vision for the state’s advancement.
The newly appointed officials include: Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti as Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac as Commissioner for Finance, Engr. Johnson Alabi as Special Adviser on Power, Dr. Seun Osamaye as Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Comrade Bola Taiwo as Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Prof. Simidele Odimayo as Special Adviser on Health, and Engr. Abiola Olawoye as Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, the new SSG, expressed deep gratitude to the governor for the trust placed in them.
He assured the governor and the people of Ondo State that the appointees would work tirelessly to support the administration’s vision and deliver impactful governance.
