North-Central APC Forum backs Tinubu for 2027

The North-Central Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, declaring that the region will support him in the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement released on Monday after a meeting in Abuja, the Forum, led by Chairman Saleh Zazzaga, reaffirmed its backing for Tinubu’s reelection, highlighting the benefits the region has gained under his administration since he assumed office in 2023.

The statement emphasised the region’s support for the President due to his administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, appointments, and security. It also noted that the North-Central has never received such support from any administration since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

The Forum stated, “After assessing the state of the nation, the North-Central APC Forum believes President Bola Tinubu has done well to earn a second term in office. His policies are taking the country in the right direction, and he deserves the support of all Nigerians.”

It further praised the President for his attention to insecurity, which had previously hindered farmers in the region, and for his economic policies, which have seen improvements such as the strengthening of the naira and an increase in foreign reserves.

The statement continued, “We also call on the President to extend more developmental projects to the North-Central and assure him of our continued support and loyalty. We believe President Tinubu will assent to the Bill for the establishment of the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC), once passed by the National Assembly.”

Additionally, the Forum expressed confidence in Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly in the petroleum sector, which it believes will eventually lead to lower prices for petroleum products and reduced inflation.

The APC North-Central Forum made it clear that it would continue to support the President’s policies and programmes and is committed to working towards his reelection in 2027. It also noted that the recent defection of members of the House of Representatives from the Labour Party to the APC in Plateau State was a sign of Tinubu’s growing acceptance in the region, predicting further defections in the near future.

“We stand firmly behind President Tinubu, and we are backing him for a second term in 2027,” the Forum concluded.
