Access Bank supports PHCs in Eti-Osa East LCDA with CSR project
In line with its commitment to making a positive impact in local communities through its Employee Volunteering Programme, Access Bank Plc’s Digital & Centralised Operations Group recently partnered with five primary healthcare centres (PHCs) in the Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to improve access to quality healthcare for local residents.
The initiative followed thorough assessments and discussions with each of the five PHCs, during which significant gaps in medical supplies and equipment necessary for effective healthcare delivery were identified. To address these challenges, Access Bank employees provided essential medical equipment, hosted wellness symposiums, and offered financial literacy education to healthcare staff.
Group Head of the Digital & Centralised Operations Group at Access Bank Plc, Oluseyi Adenmosun, represented by his deputy, Lynda Ifeanyi-Anyanwu, commented on the bank’s commitment to community welfare. “At Access, we believe in building stronger communities through initiatives that extend beyond our traditional banking services. By leveraging the collective strength of our employees through initiatives like the Employee Volunteering Programme, we are able to make a tangible impact in critical areas such as healthcare. By equipping these healthcare centres and educating staff on financial management, we aim to not only improve healthcare delivery but also empower these communities for the long term.”
As part of the initiative, the wellness symposium focused on enhancing healthcare practices and providing valuable information on preventive care and holistic health approaches. The financial literacy sessions helped healthcare workers develop practical skills to better manage resources.
Dr. Oyebanji Elegushi, the Medical Officer of Health for Eti-Osa East LCDA, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, stating, “This partnership with Access Bank is a welcome relief for our healthcare facilities. The new medical equipment and the knowledge shared by Access Bank staff will make a lasting difference. We are now better equipped to treat more patients and promote healthier lifestyles within our communities.”
Also present at the event were representatives from the Lagos State Government and the Health Commission, including Permanent Secretary District 3, Dr. Mosurat Adeleke; Director of Medical Sciences District 3, Dr. Adenike Oguntuase; and Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East LCDA, Hon. John Campus Ogindare.
