Katsina Gov unveils N3.5bn road project

Katsina State Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda has inaugurated the N3.5 billion Kofar Soro-Kofar Guga Roundabout dualised road in the Katsina metropolis.

The governor said the road, commissioned on Monday, is part of the administration’s urban renewal programme aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure

Radda, speaking at the inauguration, noted that the government is committed to creating modern, efficient urban spaces that can support economic growth and improve the citizens’ daily experiences.

He also stated that investing in critical infrastructure, such as road construction, helped to lay the foundation for Katsina’s sustainable development.

The governor, therefore, declared that “the State Government has paid all the construction firms who handled the project as you can see”, just as he expressed joy over the timely completion of the project in nine months as against the planned twelve months.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the State Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Engr. Sani Ingawa, said the project covered reconstruction, dualisation and installation of Solar-powered street lights.

Speaking on behalf of MotherCat Nigeria Limited, Mr Maroun Gosten, appreciated the Katsina State Government for the honour to participate in the state development.

The project was among the nine roads originally approved by the Katsina State Executive Council during its inaugural sitting for the year 2024 as it was flagged off on March 13, 2024
