Modibbo Adama University Yola has named three fresh appointees to head the registry, the library  and the works department  respectively

The Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has named three fresh appointees to head the registry, the library, and the works department, respectively.

The Governing Council of the university effected the appointments during its 102nd meeting held on Thursday, November 2024, according to a statement obtained on Friday morning.

According to the statement, the Governing Council approved the appointments of Usman Migawa as registrar, Professor Zainab Abdullahi as university librarian, and Umaru Kawu as director of works.

The appointments were made after the consideration of the report of a selection board and interview of shortlisted candidates,” the statement clarified.

Signed by the Information & Protocol Officer of the University, Aminu Gurumpawo, the statement disclosed that the newly appointed registrar is a 1992 graduate of Economics from the University of Maiduguri, who holds an M.Sc in Economics and an MBA in Finance. He joined the services of MAU in 1998 and rose through the ranks to become a senior deputy registrar in charge of Council Affairs.

Zainab Abdullahi, the university librarian, holds a B.Sc in Library Science from the University of Maiduguri, an M.Sc in Library Science, and a Ph.D. in Information Science.

She joined MAU in 2009 as a graduate assistant and rose through the ranks to become a professor. She has long served as the head of the Department of Library and Information Science and was recently acting university librarian.

Umaru Kawu, the Director of Works, is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from Bayero University, Kano, and was until his appointment a deputy director in the Works Department of the university.
