NPFL: Obaje thrilled to lead Rangers to victory against Nasarawa United

Godwin Obaje was full of excitement after inspiring Rangers’ 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.

Obaje recently rejoined the title holders after returning from a brief spell in Oman.

The former Plateau United forward opened scoring for the Flying Antelopes on 55 minutes and added the second five minutes later.

The striker, who was the top scorer in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, last season stated that Rangers are gradually finding their feet after a tough start to the season.

“We are happy we got the win and I am really glad to have scored in my first start for the season,” Obaje told NPFL media.

“It goes a long way to show that we are gradually getting into the needed shape to challenge for a good season. Nasarawa United gave us a good fight but we showed more resolve to win.”
