The incident occurred as the two men were being escorted to court, leading to serious security concerns throughout the community. Their journey to the court was disrupted when they managed to evade police officers, resulting in their sudden and alarming disappearance.

The legal proceedings began on September 24, 2024, when the men were apprehended on charges related to alleged homosexual activities at Mr. Seyi’s residence at Road 4, House 9, Kajola Estate, Ikorodu, Lagos. The suspects were due for a court appearance on September 25, 2024, but their escape forced an adjournment of the case to October 15, 2024.

In a public appeal, the Nigeria Police Force has requested any information on the suspects’ whereabouts. Citizens are encouraged to report sightings or relevant information to the nearest police station to aid in the swift restoration of justice.

The police have identified Mr. Seyi’s family members as follows: his wife, Uyi Modupeola Ayoola, and children, Uyi Modupe Ebitobo, Uyi David Waresuwo, and Uyi Elizabeth Tamaradieye. The family has also been notified of the ongoing search.
