Lokpobiri, Keyamo to commission Nigeria’s largest jet fuel depot

A consortium of energy companies comprising of Eterna Plc, Masters Energy, Techno Oil, Quest Oil, Rahamaniyya, Ibafon Oil, and First Deep Water Limited are set to unveil a Joint User Hydrant Installation 2 (JUHI-2), the country’s largest jet fuel depot.

The commissioning is set to be flagged off by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri on October 17, 2024.

This project further signifies the power of collaboration amongst Nigerian indigenous players to achieve a significant milestone that benefits the nation.

The depot is expected to ensure storage and supply hub for jet fuel, ensuring a steady fuel supply to Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), MMA2, MMA1, and nearby airbases.

The facility spans 46,000 square meters and boasts a storage capacity of 15 million liters of Jet A1 fuel. Its cutting-edge design includes the latest filtration systems, the ability to load four bowsers simultaneously, a jet fuel discharge system with four dedicated trucks, a modern laboratory, and state-of-the-art fire prevention measures.

Techno Oil, one of the partners on the project is an integrated, wholly indigenous company which today holds a diverse portfolio of prime investment in oil and gas, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing. The company operates amongst other assets Two-finger jetty that aids receipts of petroleum products through coastal supplies from refineries.
