CAN urges Tinubu to consider religious and cultural diversity in the composition of the north west development commission

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kaduna state chapter, has called on President Bola Tinubu to review the membership of the North-West Development Commission to reflect the true composition of religious and ethnic groups in the zone for effective coordination and successful implementation of policies and programmes under the commission.

State chairman of the association, Pastor Caleb Ma’aji, made the call in Kaduna, while receiving officials of the Northern Christian Youth Professionals on a courtesy visit for closer collaboration and understanding for future engagements.

Represented by Secretary of the association, Emmanuel Okunlola, the CAN Chairman said Nigeria is a diverse country with multi-cultural and multi-ethic groups that must be taken into consideration by those in authority in the spirit of diversity and peaceful coexistence.

Ma’aji also reminded Governor Uba Sani of the need to urgently reconstruct the the Church as he earlier promised in Kuriga Community of Chikun local government where the church was burnt down and properties destroyed.

The CAN Chairman then called for patience and resilience with the difficulties being experienced amongst Nigerians and called for trust in the government for a better future and national survival.

He expressed the hope that the reforms being implemented by the Federal Government would lead to economic revival and national prosperity and reminded all leaders that they are accountable to God the creator.

Earlier, President of the Northern Christian Youth Professionals, Mr. Isaac Abrak had explained that the group is a socio political group aimed at improving socio economic well being of Christians in the north and all Nigerians in general.

Abrak said the group was among many other organizations which supported the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because of his past leadership disposition in uplifting the lives of youth and poor people in the society and urged Nigerians to give the President more time and cooperation for his reform policies to crystallize to improve the economic well being of all Nigerians.

He appreciated CAN for it’s position on the review of the North-west Development commission and the Kuriga bandits attack adding that Nigerians must be treated equally irrespective of Religious, culture, Ethnic differences.
