As part of the celebrations for Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola’s 70th birthday, the organising committee has planned a series of events to honour the former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, who turns 70 next Sunday, September 29, 2024.

At a press conference held at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo, Committee Chairman Hon. Timothy Owoeye announced a low-key approach to the celebrations, reflecting Oyetola’s belief in moderation.

He stated, “We have embraced a low-key approach as part of the unique style of the celebration, in line with the celebrant’s belief in moderation.”

Owoeye shared that there will be a four-day free medical and surgical outreach aimed at assisting the vulnerable and needy. The outreach will start in Osogbo on Tuesday, September 24, at 9:00 AM, followed by the Geriatric Centre in Ilesa on September 25 at 9:00 AM.

He explained, “The people of Iwo will have the opportunity to patronise the medical outreach at Oluwo’s Palace on September 26 at 9:00 AM, and in Iragbiji at Aragbiji Palace Square on September 27 at 9:00 AM.”

The outreach will culminate with free surgeries on Saturday, September 28, at designated medical facilities for selected patients.

Additionally, Owoeye revealed that food items will be distributed to underprivileged community members at selected mosques, churches, and accredited centres across the state on September 27 and 29.

He added, “The grand finale will take place in Iragbiji, featuring a lecture and prayer session at the residence of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.”

The committee praised Oyetola for his significant contributions as a seasoned professional and politician. Owoeye emphasised, “Adegboyega Oyetola has proved his mettle as a successful entrepreneur and a tested manager of resources, investing his talents for the advancement of our state.”

He noted that the celebrations reflect Oyetola’s disciplined leadership style and the positive impact he has made throughout his career.
