Anambra government prohibits the use of school premises for social gatherings

The Anambra Government has prohibited all social events, weddings, shows, and entertainment on public school premises. Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the state’s Commissioner for Education, announced this in a statement signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu in Awka on Saturday.

Chuma-Udeh explained that the ban aims to protect school facilities and infrastructure from misuse. She warned that principals and head teachers must cease using school premises for commercial purposes and stated that any violators would face severe consequences.

The commissioner instructed the Chairmen of the Post Primary Schools Services Commission (PPSSC) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) to inform all principals and head teachers about the new policy and ensure compliance.
