Mbappe acknowledges disappointing La Liga debut

Kylian Mbappe has admitted that his La Liga debut for Real Madrid was far from ideal, calling the 1-1 draw against Mallorca a “not good result.” Despite a strong start to his Real Madrid career with a goal in the UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta, Mbappe struggled to find his rhythm in the league opener on Sunday. High expectations were placed on him, with talk of potentially scoring 50 goals this season, but he failed to make an impact against Mallorca.

Rodrygo scored for Real Madrid, but Mbappe and Vinicius Junior often found themselves too close on the left flank. Still adapting to Carlo Ancelotti’s system, Mbappe acknowledged the challenges of integrating into the team’s star-studded attack. In an Instagram story post after the match, he expressed his resolve to move forward, saying, “Not a good result. Heads up and already focused on the next one. Hala Madrid.”

Real Madrid will hope that their attacking trio of Mbappe, Vinicius, and Rodrygo can find their form in the next La Liga match against Real Valladolid.
