Tinubu leaves Nigeria for Equatorial Guinea for three-day visit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit following an invitation from President Teodoro Mbasogo.

Tinubu’s Gulfstream aircraft landed at Saint Isabel Airport at 2:07 p.m. local time, where he was welcomed by Equatorial Guinean Prime Minister Mrs. Manuela Roka Botey.

During the visit, President Tinubu will hold discussions with President Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa, with a focus on agreements related to oil and gas, as well as security.

This trip marks Tinubu’s first official visit to the Central African nation. It is also his seventh African destination and 22nd foreign visit since taking office about 15 months ago.

His previous international visits include Paris, France (three times); London, UK (twice); Bissau, Guinea-Bissau (twice); Nairobi, Kenya; Porto-Novo, Benin Republic; Pretoria, South Africa; Accra, Ghana; New Delhi, India; Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE; New York, USA; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (twice); Berlin, Germany; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Dakar, Senegal; and Doha, Qatar.

Accompanying Tinubu are Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar and other cabinet members, who will assist in finalizing agreements and exploring ways to enhance bilateral relations.
