Insecurity: 1 Div. Nigerian Army issues toll-free line for quick response

The 1 Division Nigerian Army and Operations Whirl Punch on Tuesday issued a toll-free line for quick response in security-related issues.

The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations in the division, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, made the announcement in a statement issued in Kaduna.

Yahaya said,  “Given the security challenges in the divisions area of responsibility that covers Kaduna, Niger, Kano and Jigawa states,   it has introduced a toll-free line/number 08000020204 for reporting security related issues.”

According to him, the move  is to enable the public to report emergency cases and lodge complaints with the division for quick response.

He said, “It is also to assist the public to send timely information on the activities of terrorists, insurgents, violent extremists, bandits and their collaborators as well as other issues of security concern.

”This will assist the division and other security agencies in protecting lives and properties within its area of responsibility.

“Dial the toll-free line and follow the interactive voice prompt to report emergencies or lodge complaints.”

Yahaya said  that all calls and messages received on the toll-free line  would be treated with utmost confidentiality while the sources would be given adequate protection.
