Fire destroys electronics worth millions in Lagos LG office

A fire incident at the LG office in Lagos on Sunday has destroyed goods and electronics estimated to be worth millions of naira.

The Lagos State Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the fire spread throughout the entire warehouse, affecting equipment, small forklifts, household goods, and electronics worth hundreds of millions of naira.

“The cause of the fire has not been ascertained, but the incident is being coordinated alongside the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to prevent further spread,” he said.

Oke-Osanyintolu added that no fatalities or injuries were reported, but the fire had escalated to the entire premises. He stated that the operation was still ongoing, with additional fire trucks activated and responders relocated outside the premises for safety reasons.

“More fire trucks have been activated and are being expected, while the Nigerian Army and the Police are also at the scene,” he said.
