Ogun Ministry tasks media on land advert verification

The Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has directed media outlets to ensure due diligence on land advertisements to maintain sanity in the built industry.

Commissioner TPl. OlatunjiOdunlami, stated that individuals or companies advertising over one hectare of land must present a layout permit from the agency.

This directive is based on the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law 2022 and the Ogun State Layout and Land Sub-Division Regulation 2022.

The ministry aims to ensure that drainage, waste disposal, and essential infrastructure are planned before construction.

Real estate companies are advised to obtain layout permits immediately, and the ministry will publish a list of approved private developers’ estates layouts. The public is warned to be cautious of patronisingunauthorised companies to safeguard their investments.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, AlhajiWaheedAdesina, urged radio stations to comply and protect their audience from fraud.

The NBC State Officer, Mrs. Bosede Williams, appreciated the initiative and charged media houses to be ethical in generating revenue. Radio stations assured total compliance with the directive.
