President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has strongly condemned the attack on former United States President Donald Trump, describing it as “distasteful” and “beyond democratic norms.”
Tinubu reacted to the incident on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, extending sympathies to the former President and families of those affected.

While reacting to the incident on his official social media handle on Sunday, Tinubu said, “Violence has no place in democracy.”
He commiserated with families of those who lost their lives during the attacks and extended sympathies to the former President, wishing him relief.
“I also condole with the family of the deceased and those wounded and wish them a quick recovery,” Tinubu said. He assured the United States of Nigeria’s support, adding that “Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States of America at this time.”
It was gathered that Donald Trump, the former US President, was standing on a stage behind a podium, six minutes into his speech at an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when he was shot at on Saturday.
He was quickly rescued by men of the secret service agents.
Also, the Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has responded to reports of an assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump.
According to the Associated Press, two people died and Trump was injured after gunshots were fired at a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump was rushed off stage by armed security.
Fani-Kayode took to social media on Sunday morning to share his thoughts on the incident.
He stated that it was Trump’s destiny to become the next President of the US and world leader, and that he cannot be killed. Fani-Kayode claimed that Trump was “robbed and denied” the presidency in 2020, but will not suffer a similar fate again.
In his post, Fani-Kayode wrote: “You cannot kill him! His time has come! You robbed him in 2020 and denied him the Presidency! You will not kill him or deny him his God-given destiny again! @realDonaldTrump is the next President of the USA and the next leader of the free world! Glory Hallelujah! #MAGA2024.”
On November 5, Donald Trump would run against incumbent Joe Biden of the Democratic Party on the platform of the Republican Party in what would be America’s first rematch election in almost 70 years.
