Alia announces construction of Achoho-Awajir-Oju road

In continuation with his thank you tour across the state, Benue state Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has announced the award of contract for the construction of Achoho- Awajir-Oju road.

Alia also enjoined the people of Oju/Obi Federal Constituency to form farming cooperatives with not less 15 members per cooperative to gainfully benefit from government incentives and support in the agricultural sector.

The governor made the announcement while addressing a mammoth crowd at Oju local government area of the state, assured of his administration’s resolve to bring development in nooks and crannies of the state.

“My good people of Oju/Obi, I am calling on all of you to form farm cooperatives with at least 15 person’s per cooperative, so that you can identify a particular crop you want to farm, get hectares of land, forward your request to my government, we will provide chemical’s, tractors,  fertilisers and other farm inputs that would enable you harvest bountifully and sell to us (government) at your convenient prices.

“The reason behind the initiative is to stop the inconsistency in prices of farm produce by businessmen at the expense of farmers,” Alia explained.

He further called on the people to remain supportive to his administration that is people oriented as evident in numerous projects executed within one year to include; procurement of 100 buses for the only state transport company Benue Links to cushioning the high cost of transportation faced by Benue masses, construction of roads across the state, prompt payment of workers salaries, pensions and gratuities among numerous others.

Senator Barnabas Gemade in his goodwill message, called on the people of Oju/Obi federal constituency to remain supportive to Alia administration for more democracy dividends to their area.

“Governor Alia remains a true leader as a priest to change the Benue narrative by breaking the shackles of underdevelopment and restoring development in the state.

“You should all support and protect him jealousy, on our part as father’s, we will give him the maximum fatherly protection devoid of harm,” Gemade maintained.

Member representing Oju/Obi federal constituency Rt. Hon (Evang) David Ogewu, assured the governor of his support and the entire people of his constituency at all time to succeed.

“Our dear governor I believe in you, my people are confident in you because you are a product of the church who has answered the cries of Benue masses to come and salvage the state in all sectors and restore the state’s lost glory.

“What you are doing for the state is the true reflection of your answer to the masses cries,” Ogewu stressed.

In separate goodwill messages, the Deputy majority leader and member, Oju 2  (Uwokwu) State Constituency, Benue state House of Assembly Hon. Ikong Cyril Ijebe, Rt. Hon. Nick Eworo,  Executive Chairmen of Oju and Obi Interim Executive Councils,  Hon. Mrs. Ire Christiana Arubi and Hon. Job Adekpe Onum, all pledged their total loyalty and support to the Alia’s administration to consolidate on the good things that he is doing for the state.

They called on their constituents to always remain supportive and prayerful to the Alia’s led government to take the state to the promised land.
