Performance review: I should be asking for a bonus — Tijani

Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani has stated that he ought to be demanding a bonus for his performance as Minister.

Recall that Bosun Tijani was appointed a Minister in August 2023 by President Bolu Tinubu.

His appointment thus followed the rollout of a Strategic Blueprint for 2023-2027 titled “Accelerating our Collective Prosperity through Technical Efficiency” with five major pillars that will open up more employment opportunities, accelerate the nation’s economic productivity through technical efficiency in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minister, in the 33 paged document said, “This Strategic Blueprint is a detailed and progressive framework that encompasses five key pillars: Knowledge, Policy, Infrastructure, Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Capital (IEC) and Trade. Each pillar is integral to our mission and interconnected with others, forming the foundation of our strategy.”

The Minister in his comments was responding to an online poll which was asking Nigerians which of the Ministers appointed should be retained or sacked.

Tijani further boasted that the Ministry under him has the most established roadmap since inception.

He added that he has adopted the route of reporting the progress of the Ministry every week to Nigerians.

This is coming on the heels of a Presidential commendation the Minister received when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received letters of credence from some ambassadors.
