Fuel scarcity: We have over 1.5bn litres stock of PMS — NNPC Ltd
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has stated the country has over 1.5bn litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in stock.
This is coming on the heels of the hardship Nigerians are going through to get the product to purchase.
Our Correspondents in Oyo State, Abuja and Lagos State discover that many filling stations are still shut with lingering queues although some filling stations which had been shut for weeks are now selling the product.
Reacting however, the NNPC Limited has again called on motorists to shun panic buying of the product.
In a statement by its spokesperson, Mr Olufemi Soneye, the company stated that at the moment, it has over 1.5 billion litres stock of PMS, which is equivalent to over 30 days sufficiency.
“The NNPC Ltd is also collaborating with relevant downstream agencies, such as the Nigerian Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labour unions in the sector and security operatives to address hoarding and other unwholesome practices,” he said
