Sallah: Immoralities hinder answers to prayers – Fmr Commissioner

By Jeleel Olawale

The former Osun State Commissioner for Home Affairs and Tourism, Alhaji Sikiru Ayedun, has urged Muslims to shun all forms of immoralities that can hinder answers to their prayers.

Ayedun gave the advice during the interview with reporters on Wednesday, in Ile-Ife.

He thanked God for giving Muslims the privilege to see the end of 30 days Ramadan fasting, saying that it’s not by power nor by might to have been able to observe this year’s Eid-el-Fitri.

According to him, Muslims have learnt a lot of lessons during Ramadan, such as: endurance, perseverance, love, giving to the less privileged among others, adding that the lessons will not be in vain after the Sallah, but they should keep to it, by not going back to all the abandoned sins like : drinking, adultery and fornication.

Ayedun stressed that Ramadan teaches the faithful to know and have the feeling of  what the downtrodden are experiencing.

The former State Commissioner admonished all and sundry to imbibe the lessons of how to deal with each other in love, to shun materialism, greediness, so that all the prayers of this period would be answered.

Also, the Chairman, Ife Ooye Community Development Council (CDC), AlhajiAkanbiLawal, confirmed Allah’s provision for the needs of humanity, adding that once His commandments are obeyed, He would continue favouring believers.

“All our families, friends and neighbourhoods we assist during Ramadan, we should not stop doing them good.

“All places and sins abandoned during the period, we should eschew them, so that our labour during Ramadan will not be in vain,” he said.
