Furthermore, in a gesture of philanthropy and cultural preservation, Pelumi Nubi has decided to donate her car, affectionately named “Lumi,” to the Lagos State Brand New J Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History.
Nubi expressed her appreciation to her well-wishers, stating that she was amazed how the journey ended.
She stressed her strong belief in its success but admitted being caught off guard by unforeseen challenges.
In a video shared on her social media page on Monday, Nubi reflected on her remarkable solo drive from London to Lagos, attributing her success not to her own power or strength, but to the infinite mercy of God.
Expressing gratitude, she thanked Jesus and credited her unwavering faith to her upbringing, acknowledging the role her parents and church played in instilling strong faith in her.
She also highlighted a miraculous survival from an accident during her journey, emphasising it as a testament to God’s grace and protection.
The 28-year-old content creator extended her appreciation to the Lagos State Government for their warm welcome and hospitality on her return.
“A friend just shared this beautiful video with me. Thank you, Jesus. Thank You, Lord. Shoutout to my parents and church for instilling such strong faith in me. And that accident? How I survived and kept moving is a miracle. Lord, see how far you’ve brought me. To my family, my parents. Let’s save the epistle for the next post,” she added.
She stated that the grand reception made her feel at home, saying, “It’s an honour to be embraced with such warmth.
“Thank you for your support and for making this homecoming memorable. Lagos, you’ve captured my heart once again.”
Following Pelumi Nubi’s triumphant completion of her solo road trip from London, United Kingdom, to Lagos, Nigeria, her father has expressed profound relief, describing her arrival as the end of 68 days of anxiety for their family.
In a video shared on Channels TV social media handle on Sunday, Pelumi’s father revealed the emotional toll of his daughter’s journey, disclosing that he and his wife had been unable to sleep for the entire duration of her adventure.
Highlighting the contrast between the world’s perception of the journey as fun and their own reality of sleepless nights and constant worry, Pelumi’s father emphasised the immense anxiety and fear they experienced throughout the ordeal.
He recounted his wife’s initial hesitation and fear upon learning of Pelumi’s plans, and the subsequent two months of anguish as they awaited her safe return.
Despite the challenges faced, Pelumi’s father expressed gratitude to God for guiding her safely through the journey, particularly through the desert and the West African border.
He underscored the family’s unwavering faith and thanked everyone involved in Pelumi’s safe return.
