Eid-el-fitr: Tinubu arrives in Lagos, as FG declares Tuesday, Wednesday public holidays

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos yesterday ahead of the Eid-el-fitr celebrations.

The President was received at the International Airport in Lagos by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and members of the State Executive team.

Eid-el-fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of their Ramadan fast.

Similarly, Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Maiduguri ahead of the celebrations on Saturday.

To mark the celebrations, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, 9th and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 as Public Holidays.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government while congratulating all Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

The Minister in his message called on Muslim Ummah to imbibe and practice the virtues that entails kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, compassion as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

He urged Nigerians to continue in the spirit of unity in order to improve and achieve peace and oneness in the country.
