Association applauds Tinubu over appointment of chair, CEO for Almajiri Commission

The Association of Masu Karatun Allo Na Tsanganya Nigeria has applauded the President, Bola Tinubu over his choice of leadership for the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education, saying that his action is capable of returning many back to the classroom.

President Bola Tinubu had on Monday appointed Brig. Gen.l Lawal Ja’afar Isa (rtd.) as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission, while Dr Idris Muhammad Sani was appointed as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer.

In a statement on Thursday, by the National Chairman of Tsanganya of Nigeria, Alh. Abubakar Abdullahi, said: “The development is a clear demonstration of the President Tinubu disposition to reinvigorate the teaching of the Holy Qur’an, and address myriad of problems bedeviling the Tsangaya school as well as improving the wellbeing of Almajiris.

“Lawal Jafaru Isa is an astute educationist and administrator with a proven track record in his career as well as the military administrator of Kaduna State. His appointment could be described as ‘best decision’ taken by President Tinubu to holistically bring sustainable development in the Qur’anic teaching and learning, welfare of Alarammomi (teachers), and ensure access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children,” he said.

Abdullahi congratulated the newly appointed leaders while urging them to run an open door policy and engage Tsangaya organisations to fast track successful implementation of the programme to facilitate sustainable development in the sector.
