500L Jigawa indigene emerges winner of World AI competition in China

A 500 level student of the Department of Computer Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Abdullahi Ahmad Bello has emerged winner of the World Students competition on Artificial Intelligence (AI) held in the Republic of China.

Abdullahi who is an indigene of Babura Local Government of Jigawa state had earlier emerged winner of the Regional competition held in South Africa.

Presenting the winner before Jigawa state executive council, the State commissioner for Higher education, Dr Isa Yusuf Chamo said, Abdullahi emerged winner at the world competition which was participated by 42 countries.

He told the State Governor that Abdullahi Ahmad and Adam Isa Adam of Roni Local government who also participated in the competition are  proudly sons of Jigawa state and are a reflection of the state government’s huge investment in education and new hope for a better future.

Responding, the Jigawa state governor, Malam Umar Namadi expressed his delight at the new innovation created by the student which made him emerge winner at the world AI student competition.

Governor Namadi added that the Jigawa state government and all good people of the state are proud of Abdullahi Ahmad Bello and Adam Isa Adam for their academic excellence.

Governor Namadi also offered the two students a scholarship for their Masters and Ph.d.

In his remarks the winner of the world Artificial Intelligence AI Competition Abdullahi Ahmad Bello revealed that some of the inventions he made include the development of an AI software that can detect breast Cancer.

He added that he also created a robot that can detect flood waves before it occurs and AI eyeglasses that can convert written script into voice, with three different languages namely Hausa, Yoruba and English.
