Restaurant owner found dead, daughter seriously injured in Jigawa

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has found the owner of a popular restaurant in Jigawa, Hajia Hadiza dead.

The Police also found the daughter of the dead restaurant owner unconscious with injuries on her body.

In a statement, the Jigawa police command l confirmed the death of the deceased noting that she was last seen on 12/02/2024 which made her neighbours become suspicious of her being missing, as all efforts made to reach her phone lines proved abortive.

“On receipt of the report, detectives from the Dutse Division swung into action and proceeded to her house. On arrival, it was discovered that the house was locked, but the door was forced open where her body was found in the sitting room lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

“The team also observed visible cuts on her head and neck and the body has started decomposing.

“Her daughter, one Christiana Michael ‘F’ age 11yrs was also found locked in a store with cuts on her head too but unconscious.

“Both the corpse and the victim were rushed to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital for confirmation and to treat the injured daughter.

“Hadiza Nakowa was confirmed dead by a medical doctor but later, the corpse was conveyed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for autopsy,” the statement read in part.

Reacting, the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP AT Abdullahi psc, directed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Dutse to thoroughly investigate the incident to unravel the cause of her killing and arrest the fleeing culprits.

He also called on the good people of the area to remain calm and cooperate with the Police to ensure that those suspects have been brought to book.

He promised that anybody found wanting would be prosecuted accordingly.
