We are prioritizing mining, agriculture sector to boost economic fortunes – FG

The Minister of Environment, Dr. Isiaq Salako has disclosed that the Federal government (FG) is giving pritority to the development of the mining and agriculture sector to boost the economic fortunes of the nation.
The Minister made this known while addressing journalist during a courtesy visit to Dangote Cement plant,Ibese Yewa local government of Ogun State.
Dr Salako explained that the economy agenda of President Bola Ahmed is to diversify the economic part of which is mining which naturally accompany challenges that impact the environments.
“There is need for more cooperation in terms of operation there is cooperating better especially with the top’s national government management and also there is need for the community to understand that there is no gain with out pains that mining activities naturally come with that impacts the environment.”
“We have therefore made it very clear to the operators that as much as we appreciate that the operators must also ensure that they try their optimal options at all times to ensure that those negative impact on the environment is reduced to the barest made it clear that they should be open to scrutiny. So that there will be some level of everybody coming on board and being on the same page. But by and large, we can see that the frontier is highly digitalized. “
“The operations are being monitored in real time. And I would like to encourage them to continue to improve in that direction, so that both the rest of the community and the country can benefit, optimize performance.” He said
He also urged the Dangote management to improve on developing the environment their factory is situated.
