Civil servant brutally murdered by suspected tricycle robbers in Taraba

A civil servant, Lawen Bazing, has been gruesomely murdered by suspected tricycle robbers in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

It was gathered that the deceased boarded a commercial tricycle from the Mile Six area over the weekend to the renowned De Crux Nite Club, 300 metres away from where he was killed.

After disembarking from the tricycle, the assailants were said to have attacked Bazing, stabbing him and robbing him of his belongings before dumping him into a drainage channel, where his remains were discovered.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state, Abdullahi Usman, admitted knowledge of the incident but said detailed information had yet to be made available to the command.

He said the command would investigate the matter and apprehend the culprits.

The gruesome murder, which is not the first of its kind in the state capital, comes a few months after a secondary school teacher, Bassey Sardauna, was stabbed to death by some secondary school students.
