Nigerian govt charges FERMA board on transformation
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has charged the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, board members to be patriotic and committed to their duties, stressing the importance of their role in shaping FERMA’s mandate.
Umahi gave the advice while speaking in Abuja during the inauguration of the sixth Governing Board of the agency with a charge to ensure improvement in the condition of federal roads nationwide.
He said President Bola Tinubu had approved a supplementary budget for 236 road projects earmarked for palliative intervention.
The minister while congratulating the appointed board members on their selection assured the public of a transformative shift in road conditions over the next two years.
On his part, the Managing Director/CEO of FERMA, Chukwuemeka Agbasi, pointed out a vision for visible enhancement in road conditions, reduced operating costs and improved socio-economic conditions for road users during his four-year tenure.
