Courageous escape from Ogboni fraternity abduction unveils dark secrets
In a chilling revelation, Osayande Clement, the first son of the influential Pa. Amadin Osayande, a senior member of the notorious Ogboni fraternity, has exposed the dark underbelly of the clandestine cult, known for its dominance in Benin City.
Traditionally, senior Ogboni members initiate their firstborn sons into the cult to ensure the continuity of their secretive activities. The pressure was thus on Pa. Amadin Osayande who has participated and seen other leaders initiate their eldest sons to also fulfil his own part. However, Osayande Clement, raised in a Christian environment by his mother, steadfastly resisted becoming a member of the dreaded Ogboni fraternity.
In a shocking turn of events, Pa. Amadin Osayande, unwilling to accept his son’s refusal and determined to secure a successor within the cult, took drastic measures. Prepared to sacrifice his own son, Osayande Clement to renounce his Christian faith and join the Ogboni fraternity, the group conspired and mobilised the attack on the young man.
On the night of April 9, 2019, many members of the cult gathered to abduct Osayande Clement to their temple. Miraculously, he sensed the impending danger and made a daring escape. However, his luck took a dark turn as he was pursued, attacked, and inflicted with severe injuries, including a first-degree injury to his right eye.
Subsequently, Osayande Clement was admitted to Edo State Hospital Management Board, unbeknownst to his father and the Ogboni members. Efforts to locate him were thwarted by the intervention of the then commissioner of Police, who dispatched a detachment of officers to provide protection.
After being revived, treated, and discreetly discharged, Osayande Clement chose a life in seclusion to avoid any encounters with the Ogboni fraternity, whose actions defy the principles he holds dear.
This shocking account of Osayande Clement’s escape sheds light on the deep-rooted and perilous practices within the Ogboni fraternity
