Abiodun bags Rotary award for good governance, Club cautions against poor health management

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has bagged the Rotary Club, Olumo sunrise of Abeokuta award for good and equitable governance.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Engr.Noimot Salako Oyedele stated that the state government will continue to develop the health sector for the good of the residents.
“Health is very important and we will continue to take it very seriously.We will continue to develop the health sector for the good of our people.”
In the same vein, the Club urged Nigerians to take proactive measures towards improving their overall health during the induction of its new President, Olamide Lawal, and award ceremony held in Abeokuta,the state capital.
Recognising the essential role that good health plays in the development and progress of any society, the Rotary Club highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare measures and early intervention.
The President, Olamide Lawal who decried poor health management among Nigerians advised Nigerians to take the issues of their health seriously, reminding them that safeguarding health should be a top priority in their lives.
His words: “Health is our most valuable asset, and it is about time everyone recognizes its significance. By taking responsibility for our personal well-being and that of our families, we can lead him.
“People should take care of their health. Rotary Club is doing a lot to help safeguard the health of the people. We did medical outreach for people to cater for their health. we are working against polio,” he added.
Also, one of the awardees at the event, Babatunde Adeyemo cautioned Nigerians against self medication and consulting quack medical personnel for health related issues.
Adeyemi stressed that self medication is a threat to life, hence, the need to consult experts at all times
“You are the doctor of your own. Don’t consider self medication when you have any health issues. Simply consult an expert, it’s cheaper than going for quack,” he said.
