Meanwhile, the President of the Association of Telephone, Cable TV, and Internet Subscribers of Nigeria (ATCIS), Sina Bilesanmi, has called for a boycott of both DStv and GOtv, deeming the tariff hike exploitative. He emphasised that this marks the fourth price increase by these operators in 2023 in Nigeria.
Bilesanmi urged Nigerians to unite against this exploitation and called on President Tinubu and the National Assembly to intervene, emphasizing the need for Pay Per View options in the market. He expressed disappointment in the operators’ response to their previous letters, which addressed issues like Pay Per View, stating that they had “feigned ignorance” of these letters.
