Oyo: Hon. Taiwo Talabi highlights urgent need for local govt elections, low-cost housing

Oyo State politician, Hon Taiwo Talabi has called attention to the administration of local government areas in Oyo state and the importance of conducting elections into offices in the third tiers of government.

Hon Taiwo said, “As a grassroots politician with two decades of experience and engrossed with the interest of the masses, I have recently discovered the huge deficit in low-cost housing in Oyo State.

“The Local Government, being the closest tier of government to the masses, has failed to address this menace bedeviling the people in various local governments in Oyo State, owing to inadequate funding or allocation.”

Speaking further, he noted that the inactivity of the various Local Governments in Oyo State has opened the door of investment to private individuals and business owners to invest in housing in the various Local Governments in Oyo State, to cushion the effect of the recent relocation of people to Oyo State.

He also urged all candidates of my party contesting for chairmanship and councilor positions in the various Local Government Areas in the forthcoming Local Government Election in Oyo State to prioritize the issue of low-cost housing and ensure that the masses are well sheltered in befitting homes.

“The record of my ability to deliver low-cost houses to the masses as a philanthropist is there to emulate, and I will not relent on my mandate to ensure low-cost housing once I am elected as a lawmaker representing the Ibadan South-west/North-west Federal constituency of Oyo State in the 2027 General Election.” He concluded.

Hon. Taiwo Talabi was a House of Representative Candidate, Ibadan SouthWest/NorthWest Federal Constituency under the platform of  the Social Democratic Party in 2015.
