Rotary Club condoles with Ibiyemi family, pledges support

The Rotary Club of Ota yesterday paid a condolence visit to the residence of Late Publisher of NewsDirect, Dr Samuel Ibiyemi.

The delegation was led by the current President of the Club, Rotarian Torera Ajayi.

According to Ajayi, “Dr Ibiyemi was an active member of the club who made laudable contributions to the cause of the association. He was the President of the club when I joined and he is someone we are very proud to be associated with.

“Just some weeks ago, we were all together in Abeokuta for the conference so hearing of the news of his demise was shocking. I am still finding it hard to come to terms with it.

“We will however be praying that God comforts the family while we also pledge our support to the family for the burial arrangements.”

In the same vein, Rotarian Wole Kukoyi praised Ibiyemi for his commitment to serve humanity.

He urged the family to take comfort knowing that he has was a believer in Jesus and he has gone to rest.

Responding on behalf of the family, Olawale Ibiyemi thanked the club for their willingness to support the burial arrangements.

He said he is rest assured that, “daddy is looking down on us now and smiling.”
