Ogun APC chieftain, Ayoola urges Gov Abiodun, OGD to unite for good of all

Bankole Taiwo, Abeokuta

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Odogbolu Local Government area of Ogun State, Omooba Adekunle Adebayo Ayoola has pleaded with Gov Dapo Abiodun and the former governor of the state, now a Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel to drop the brickbats and be united towards expanding the frontiers of socio-economic development of the state.

Omooba Adekunle Ayoola, an international trade expert who shuttles between Nigeria and Poland dropped this plea in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday.

Ayoola said just like many other progressives in the state, he was not really happy with the reported frosty relationship between the two political leaders which is generating so much frenzies and negative reports in the media.

He said “I have really not been happy reading all manners of distasteful reports on my two political leaders and mentors, Gov Dapo Abiodun and his long term friend and political associate, a former governor and now Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

“It is natural we are caught in conflict as humans sometimes, but whenever this happens, we should forgive one another and move on, friction is said to be part of human relationship.

“As key political leaders that many of us look up to as role models, I plead with both of you His Excellencies to sit down, iron out the differences and be more united to take Ogun to greater heights.

“We have seriously prayed and worked and God in His infinite mercy has crowned our labour with victory. God has brought for us a redoubtable leader in person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this is one seasoned and patriotic leader who is willing to give it all that it will take to move this nation forward. This is a leader who is willing to form ally with States to boost their development and prosperity.

“Rather than fighting over inanities, let’s shun all forms of distraction and be focused, let’s work as a team to make life much more easier for our people in the state. I therefore prostrate and beg our leaders to allow bygones to be bygones.

“Let’s also urge our supporters to stop fanning this ember of discord. Let’s rather be well positioned to get the very best from the government of President Bola Tinubu who is well favourably disposed to us.

“We all can hear the President repeating this during his visit to two of our Paramount rulers, the Awujale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona and Alake of Egba, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo on Thursday. I equally beg all our royal fathers to intervene and ensure that this matter is laid to rest in the interest of peace and development of our darling state.”
